Adi Shankara, the sacred seer, sang praises of Shivanee and Shiva through his divinely inspired poetic imagination in Saundarya Lahari and Shivananda Lahari.
 
Saundarya Lahari is a description of Shivanee, the Supreme Mother, the Shakti of Shiva. The holy text is considered a tantrik compendium and every letter therein a mystically powered beejaakshara.
 
A devout reading of the holy text would cleanse and sanctify the thinking of readers and put them on the path to atmajnaana, self-realisation.
