About us
Richa Prakashan, established in 1997, is dedicated to publishing books focused on the mind, body, and spirit—covering subjects like Spirituality, Religion, Philosophy, Yoga, and more. It is a sister concern of 'Gupta Prakashan', which has been successfully publishing and distributing children’s educational textbooks for over half-a-century.

During his visits abroad, Mr. R.A. Gupta (Director, Richa Prakashan) noticed that many young NRIs and People of Indian Origin (PIOs) had limited knowledge of Sanskrit and faced difficulty in understanding Hindi. This created a barrier in accessing Indian spiritual texts like Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Shree Ramacharitmanas, Hanuman Chalisa, etc.

To bridge this gap, Mr. Gupta published the first book under Richa Prakashan in 1997—the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. It included Sanskrit shlokas, Roman transliteration, and authentic translations in Hindi and English, all on the same page. This format enabled even non-Sanskrit readers to connect with the scripture.

Following its overwhelming global success, more books were added, such as Shree Ramacharitmanas, Arati Sangraha, Sachitra Shiva & Durga Chalisa, Shiva Puran, Durga Saptashati, Vishnu Sahasranama, and many others. These books featured Romanization, bilingual translations, and multi-colored illustrations to appeal to younger readers.
Richa Prakashan also created region-specific editions to cater to different Indian communities abroad. Books were published in Bangla (Shree Kaali Chalisa, Shree Durga Chalisa), Tamil and French (Thirukkural), and Dutch (Sachitra Hanuman Chalisa). A pocket edition of Hanuman Chalisa with Gujarati-Roman-English text gained popularity in the UK.

In 2002, a devotee of Lord Ram celebrated his 80th birthday by distributing 1,000 customized copies of Shree Ramacharitmanas. Richa Prakashan supported this initiative in South Africa by offering the books at a nominal cost, showcasing a unique customization service.

Gradually, the publisher expanded into Yoga books, with titles focusing on specific body parts and simple explanations of asanas, authored by Sh. R.D. Gupta. These books include Do’s and Don’ts and aim to improve the physical and mental well-being of readers.

In response to demand, Richa Prakashan also began offering pooja kits, hawan samagri, calendars, cards, and other devotional products. These additions made it a one-stop solution for spiritual literature and allied products.

Today, Richa Prakashan proudly exports its publications to several continents, with the help of its exclusive overseas distributor, D.R. Exports, New Delhi.
The management continues to explore new international markets and is actively working on new publications tailored to different cultural and language needs.
