Established in 1997, 'Richa Prakashan' is dedicated to the publishing of books that deal with the trinity of mind, body & spirit - subjects like Spirituality, Religion, Philosophy, Yoga & others. It is a sister concern of 'Gupta Prakashan' - a unit which is successfully serving the nation with its publication & distribution of children educational text-books for the last 48 years. During his numerous visits abroad, Mr. R.A. Gupta (Director, Richa Prakashan) felt that the young NRIs & the People of Indian Origin (PIO) have little knowledge of Sanskrit & have difficulty in reading/understanding Hindi. They are therefore, unable to read and understand Indian Spiritual and other Religious scriptures like Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Shree Raamacharitamaanasaa, Hanumaan Chaaleesaa, Shiva Chaaleesaa, Sundarkanda, etc. Mr.
Gupta hence decided to publish the first book under Richa Prakashan-`Srimad
Bhagavad Gita' in 1997. The main objective of this book was to present
original Sanskrit 'Shlokas' , their Roman rendering with a clear, concise
& an authentic translation in Hindi and English on one page. Roman
rendering helped PIOs to read the original Sanskrit text even without
the knowledge of Sankrit! The
overwhelming success of this publication in various countries encouraged
Mr. Gupta to further publish books like Shree Raamacharitamaanasa, Arati
Sangraha, Hanuman Chalisa, Sachitra Shiva Chalisa, Sachitra Durga Chalisa,
Shiva Puran, Durga Saptashati, Vishnu Sahastranaama and many others.
While developing these books, special emphasis was laid on their Romanization
alongwith English and/or Hindi translations. Multi-colored illustrations
in these books particularly help the young to comprehend the text. Another
reason for the success of these books worldwide was the special emphases
laid on high quality in the production of these books. With
time, specific books were also developed to suit the demographic patterns
of countries. So, books in Regional languages like Bangla (Shree Kaalee
Chaaleesaa, Shree Durgaa Chaaleesaa), Tamil & French (Thirukkural
- for the South Indian Population) & Dutch (Sachitra Hanumaana Chaaleesaa)
were also developed on the similar pattern. A pocket edition of Sachitra
Hanumaana Chaaleesaa with Gujarati text-Romanization-Gujarati &
English meanings facilitates ease of reading & carrying it everywhere
by Indians in UK! A
one-of-its-kind customization by Richa Prakashan took shape in 2002
when a gentleman in South Africa celebrated his 80th Birthday by distributing
1000 copies of Shree Raamcharitamaanasaa (published by Richa Prakashan)
after having customized initial few pages of the book & the cover
as '80th Birthday Edition'! Richa Prakashan supported this noble cause,
of propagating Indian Culture in South Africa, by supplying these copies
at cost-price! Gradually,
Yoga books also formed part of Richa Prakashan. Books dealing with specific
body parts were of particular interest to people. Through his personal
practice, the author, Sh. R.D. Gupta shares his knowledge & experience
in Yoga through these books by explaining the 'asans' in the simplest
manner & by outlining the Do's & Dont's for them. He feels that
through constant practice these books would help in the physical &
mental well-being of humanity. Lately,
on popular demand, other related items like Pooja boxes, Pooja bags,
Hawan Samagri, Religious cards, calendars, posters, publicity material
etc. have also been developed & exported. Today
Richa Prakashan takes great pride in including countries like U.S.A.,
U.K., Canada, South Africa, Mauritius, Netherlands, Australia, Suriname,
Fiji, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago and many others in its client-list.
Regular export of all these publications, that are printed in-house
in its printing unit (D.R. Printers & Convertors Pvt. Ltd.), are
made to these countries through its exclusive overseas distributors-'D.R.Exports',
New Delhi. The
management is continuously exploring other major export destinations
by customizing its publications as per country specific-needs, with
many new publications being in the pipeline. |
